New Ultrasound & Mammography Department at University Hospital Geelong

Ultrasound and Mammography now located on Level 3 – University Hospital Geelong

As part of Barwon Health’s commitment to provide high-quality imaging to the region BMI will open a new purpose-built ultrasound on mammography department at University Hospital Geelong on Monday 21st May, 2018.

The new purpose-built facility features improved functionality and rooms for patient and staff comfort.  Patients attending for an ultrasound and/or mammography should enter via the hospital’s Bellerine Street main entrance.

Designed with separate areas for inpatients and outpatients, there is a dedicated trolley bay for inpatients awaiting scanning, whilst outpatients can enjoy a light-filled reception area, easily located on level 3, just past the new Baxter lifts and close to the cafeteria.

This new department is part of staged building works which will continue between May – November 2018, which will see the imaging department on level 1 of the hospital re-developed to create an expanded ED Imaging Hub for the community.
