Assoc. Professor Andrew Whan
Director – Barwon Medical Imaging | Consultant Radiologist
Radiology Sub-speciality: MRI, musculoskeletal (MSK) imaging, neuro imaging, gastrointestional imaging, CT colonography, breast imaging and prostate MRI.
Assoc. Professor Whan has been Director of Barwon Medical Imaging since 2008 and has recently returned from a six month sabbatical at University of Oxford in the UK focused on neuro, paediatric and prostate MRI imaging.
Dr Whan completed his training at Austin Hospital and was awarded the Gold Medal as the top candidate in the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists Fellowship Exam. In 2001, Andrew completed advanced fellowship training at Austin Hospital in MRI and breast imaging before travelling to Perth where he obtained further fellowship training in MRI with a particular focus on musculoskeletal imaging.
Andrew is currently an Examiner with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists and an Associate Professor and Tutor at Deakin Medical School, Deakin University.
